On July 24, 2009, a lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court in Minnesota, against the National Arbitration Forum and several other companies. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of a Minnesota consumer who alleges breach of contract, tortious interference, consumer fraud, antitrust conspiracy and other claims. The lawsuit also declared its intention to represent “All persons in the United States who were subject to an arbitration clause requiring them to arbitrate disputes before the National Arbitration Forum and who either were subject to such arbitration proceedings or incurred damages disputing the applicability of the arbitration requirement. Excluded from the class are persons who declared bankruptcy that covered alleged debts to any [of the creditor defendants named in the lawsuit].” Click here to see the complaint.
